Buying a home on the other hand, does not give you as much choice in the design and layout of the house.

In the long run, these factors will lessen the chances of future maintenance and repairs to keep the house fully functional and comfortable for everyday life. When you choose to buy a home, it may be built in accordance to outdated building requirements that will result in future remodeling or home maintenance.

The housing market fluctuates regularly causing dips and rises in the prices. In 2022, the real estate market has been attracting many buyers, resulting in property spending less than 20 days on the market before being purchased. As homes sell so quickly, it becomes harder for one to acquire a home at a reasonable price. However, if you build your own home, the competition is reduced to zero.
Low energy costs
Today’s technology has advanced to create most energy-efficient housing systems using the most sustainable materials. These systems reduce waste and utilize less energy making your custom home more sustainable and environmentally friendly. This however, may not be the case with a house you buy.
New house
As a home owner, you get to start fresh in a new house and enjoy every brand-new aspect of the house. However, if you decide to buy a house, more than likely it has already been lived in, meaning there might be little to no new aspects about the house when you move in.
